This is how I think the split feature should work, and it apparently does not. I want to break a long, complex line in half. How do I do it?
This option is in the Cartographica menu, but it seems not to work in the manner which one(me) would think. For example, lets say I want to take a a street feature(polyline) and cut it into multiple features, each representing a city block for example. I double click the feature to go into edit mode, I then select(highlights in white) the vertice where I would like the 'split' to occur, and I then go to Edit > Split Selected Features and voila... nothing happens!
That being said, is this a bug, wherein the 'Split Selected Features' option is not working? Or does 'Split Selected Features' perform some other function? If so, what? And how does one use it?
Thank you,

Yes, I also want to break apart long complex lines, and have tried using the split feature, but to no avail.
Has anyone found away to do this?
Split Selected Features takes a multi-part feature and splits it into individual parts. We do not currently have a function for taking a single, coherent feature and breaking it up into smaller features.
Right now, it is a bug that the Split option shows up in Edit mode. As we move to supporting multi-feature editing, we will support splitting a single feature into multiple features, but that functionality is not in the shipping code as of today. It is a priority feature that is being worked on.
